White River Fly Fishing

Arkansas' Premier Trophy Trout Destination

Fish the White River with Wandering Fly Outfitters

The White River below Bull Shoals Dam is one of the most productive trout fisheries in the country. It’s cold, clear, and loaded with trophy-class Rainbow and Brown trout year-round. Wandering Fly Outfitters puts you on those fish with guided trips designed for every skill level, from first-timers picking up a fly rod to seasoned anglers chasing a personal best.

Based out of Flippin, Arkansas, our guides know every bend and run of this river. They’ll put you in the right spot with the right fly and your job is just to enjoy the water.

Why the White River?

The White River is one of the few tailwater fisheries in the country capable of producing trophy trout in numbers. The consistent cold water released from Bull Shoals Dam creates near-perfect conditions for Rainbow, Brown, Brook and Cutthroat trout to grow big and stay active all year. Whether you’re after sheer volume or a once-in-a-lifetime fish, the White River delivers both, for some exceptional Arkansas fishing.

What to Expect on your white river trip

Every White River guided trip starts with your guide briefing you on the day’s plan — water conditions, what the fish are eating, and what you’ll be doing. Whether you’re wading a prime run or floating a stretch of river, you’ll be fishing water your guide has dialed in. Expect hands-on instruction if you need it, patient coaching on your cast and presentation, and a guide who’s as invested in your day as you are. The goal is simple: put you on fish and make sure you leave wanting to come back.

The White River fishes well year-round thanks to the consistent cold water released from Bull Shoals Dam.
